On 9 December 2025, BISTLAB | Balkan Economy and Finance Laboratory hosted a guest lecture that provided students from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (IBU) with an in-depth exploration of the Macedonian monetary and external sector dynamics. Mrs. Dijana Janevska Stefanova, Senior Expert in the Monetary Policy and Research Department at the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia, delivered the lecture titled “Balance of Payments and Foreign Trade: The Case of North Macedonia.

The presentation offered students a comprehensive overview of key macroeconomic indicators, emphasizing the interplay among inflationary pressures, balance-of-payments dynamics, and the importance of maintaining adequate foreign reserves. The event was organized within the courses International Monetary Systems and Monetary Theory and Policy, under the academic guidance of Asst. Prof. Elena Parnardzieva Stanoevska and Asst. Prof. Kristina Velickovska.

This engagement significantly enriched students’ understanding of current monetary policy challenges and the country’s interactions with international financial institutions.
